There's something very frustrating about not being able to remember all the lyrics to a song. The frustration is, in fact, directly proportional to how bad or embarrassing or dated the song is.
It may be that Matt was well on his way to closing in on that first stanza. He had the tune, which was a real earworm, but the words, it's just no good without the words!
