Caspian is standing nearby, and after his talk with Tirian had been looking about for just this familiar face. "I'd hoped to catch you; so you're leaving, then?"
He nods back, and the sea-gray eyes glance at the door before meeting Eustace's again, strong and steady. "It's well that you're going with him, Eustace. Tirian will need you, I think."

It's a quick grin he gets, genuine but preoccupied, and it fades.
The tilt of his head says, what's your news? It also implies that Edmund doesn't expect to be surprised by said news.
