Tonight, there was a car - different from the usual car - sitting in the bar. Black and beautifully reflective, no sound came from it, the windows were opaque, and the only sign of life was the consistant sweep, back and forth, of a red scanner along its track.

Why was there a car in the bar anyway?

It's a car!

Kira is looking from the car to the door rather dubiously.

She's at the wrong angle to see moving lights.

And Kitt was dubious about her. He was used to getting odd looks, even here. But he would remain on his guard. After all, being hijacked for his wheels had nearly happened before.

It's a shiny car! Kira's just wondering if there's a garage on the other side of the door, or something similar.

She wanders around the back of the shiny car. Is there a license plate? (Are they all going to get carbon monoxide poisoning?)

There is indeed a license plate, and it reads KNIGHT. And there is no detectable odor from the exhaust either.

There is, however, a rather indignant, "I beg your pardon!"

Kira screams and throws herself back! She has angered the invisible bumper gnomes!

"I let very few people inspect my tailpipe." He hadn't meant to scare her, but for goodness sake.

"I was checking the license plate!"

Kira is from a horror canon, and startles at rabbits in the bushes, strange noises, rustling branches, laughter from unseen sources, puffs of light, anything happening when the lights are out, jumping cats, and talking cars.

She sounds a little indignant. Jeez, cars these days. . .

"Are you a talking car?"

"I assure you that I have a license plate and that it's up to date where I come from, and to answer your question - in a very simplistic way - yes, I am."

At least he didn't turn indignant back at her and ask if she let just anyone inspect her tailpipe. That would've been disasterous.

"There's nothing wrong with simple," Kira says, moving around to the other end of the car. Oo, flashy. . . it's okay to look, right?

Yes! She would have wanted to know why some immodest beings didn't wear clothes if cars had indecent bits. Pure chaos.

This end, yes, it was all right to look. "I'm much more than simple, though, I assure you."

Had she even seen a car before? Confusing.

"Well, who is?" Kira glances at the door. "So--did the door just get unusually large for you? I think it did for Naraht."

"No, it didn't. I have my ways of entering." Because he wasn't sure if he wanted to share the secret of his shapechanging yet.

"Oh, all right." What? It's a talking car. Like Kira's going to explain what's wierd and what isn't.

"So what do you do in the bar? Drink?"

"Usually, I only observe. After all, what would I drink?" In car form. There really wasn't much to do as a car in the bar.
