Bartending

Garion's almost distracted as he puts the specials up this time. It's almost like he's not entirely there, like his mind is someplace else, some other world or some other concern... but he's here, which means he wants to be there. He's too practical to waste time and he'll never consider bartending a waste of time. Never ( Read more... )

Well, that thing certainly isn't Magic. Magic doesn't eat people, she eats peoples' dinners. The distinction is important. Speaking of eating peoples' dinners, she's still waiting for mum to order so that she can beg for tidbits.

Mum being the smallish pyro who suddenly looks a bit wary upon discovering the Bar is not unmanned.

He looks down at Magic.

""Would you like something, little sister?""

Magic's floppy ears perk, and she bounces up on her hind legs to better see this person that is talking to her.

"Magic." Pipes up Ace, giving her dog a look. With a huff the doberman sits back on her haunches, and encouragingly wags her tail at the nice man.
"She could do with some supper." The pyro adds, giving Magic's ears a scritch for good behavior.

"That's what I was asking her," he says, pointing to Magic.

Then he walks back into the kitchen, returning a moment later with a decent portion of ground red meat in a bowl. Garion walks out from behind the bar and places it on the ground for her.

""Eat well, little sister.""

Magic sets on the food like she hasn't had a bite to eat in months. Evidently, she is the multiverse's only sleek and shiny-coated starving-to-death dog.

Ace leans on the bar, lazily.
"So do y'serve humans too, or do I need t'go beggin' Bar for m'supper?"

He looks up at her.

"You're welcome to order if you'd like. But while I'm good at guessing as to what she might like, I'll not even try with you."

Ace raises an eyebrow at that, but doesn't comment.

"Beef stew, an' a hot buttered rum, if y'please." She says instead, meek as you like.

Yes, she is probably laughing on the inside. She's like that.

He nods, putting the order for stew into the kitchens before mixing up her drink order.

"Coming right up"

He does look up at her curiously ever few seconds as he mixes it, though.

She was going to behave.

If only because his god makes wicked cool mountains.

But honestly. There's only so much she can take.

"What?" She asks as he looks up at her again.

He puts her drink on the bar and nudges it over to her before holding his hands up innocently.

"Just... curious as to the eyebrow raise. That's all."

"Ah aha. S'nothin'." She assures him, breezily.

See?

Behaving. Wells would be proud.

He pauses a moment before nodding.

"Your dog's very nice, anyway."

He smiles over at Magic.

""Anything else, little sister? Water?""

Magic moves to try and jump up again, looks over at Ace, and settles, in a huff. She'd actually like more meat. Meat is good. Meat is very good. More people should eat it, so she can get them to feed it to her.

"She must've picked it up somewhere." Ace replies, non-comittally, doing her best to ignore the implications of his backhanded compliment.

Behaving.

"Not that you're not," he says on his way back to the kitchen. He comes out with another bowl and lays the second in the first.

""No more or you'll not be fit to hunt.""

Then he looks to Ace.

"I'm just a little nervous about saying much of anything to you. I don't want to offend."

That other meat must have been taken by some other dog, because clearly Magic is clearly starved, all skin and bones. The bowls make little ringing sounds as she begins nudging them along the floor.

"Keep the bleedin' big swords away from m'head, an' it's amazin' how civil I can be." She retorts, drily. It hardly seems fair that she gets painted as the unreasonable one here. There was a REALLY BIG SWORD and he was going to skewer her with it.

"I had no intention of holding a sword at your head," he answers, calmly enough. "And while, as I said, I don't remember doing it... I acknowledge I very well might have. And I'm sorry."

He sighs before rubbing at the back of his neck.

"It's not my usual way of acting, I promise."
