Today, Sarah Jane had decided when she woke up this morning, is the day where she'll finally head to Earth.

Well, not her Earth (even, she guesses, if in someway it is her Earth, just centuries and centuries in the future) per say, but a Earth. Well, a 31st century Earth and who knows what they'll find there. First step will be going through the ( Read more... )

A young man with glasses comes in through the Door, a nice bouquet of pink gerberas, white daisies and red roses wrapped in his arms. He blinks, noticing where he is - and then notices someone familiar.

Well, he did promise to keep her informed! Even if she probably won't remember him.

"Um, excuse me...uh, hi! We met once. I'm Seymour Krelborn...I had that strange plant?"

"Seymour! Oh, I remember you."

Sarah smiles and nods him over to the bar where she sits. No strange plant this time, but that's okay. Company is always welcomed.

"How are you? And how's that plant of yours?"

It's so weird when people actually remember him. But kind of nice, all the same.

Smiling, Seymour takes a seat. "I'm doing really well! And so's the plant! And so's the store!"

"Really? Oh, that's wonderful!" She takes a sip of her tea, looking genuinely pleased for Seymour. "Did you find out where that plant came from at all?"

Seymour carefully sets the bouquet on his lap, keeping the blossoms of the flowers suspended - he doesn't want to crush them, after all!

"I didn't! But it's doing a lot better since I found out what it eats. It's got three leaves now, and it's really gotten bigger!"

He says this in much the same way a parent would remark about their child's height.

She nods, eager for him to tell her more. "And what does it eat?"

Sarah Jane Smith, you are indeed lucky. You're the first person Seymour has to lie to. Huzzah!

He used a trick Belar taught him, and repeated his lie in front of a mirror. There's no twitch of his face, hesitation, or any other change in the cheery enthusiasm he's had since they started talking.

"A mixture of pot ash, peat moss and some mineral supplements. A bit of an odd diet, but, hey, whatever works! The trick was finding the exact right kind of each. I'll have to keep experimenting as the plant keeps growing - and it looks like it's gonna be a big one. Might even clear two feet some day!"

"Two feet?" Sarah looks very impressed. The lie goes completely unnoticed. "That must be some plant."

"Well," Seymour admits, "that might be just wishful thinking on my part. But Twoie's a really strange little guy, so who knows? Oh! And the plant's name is Audrey II."

Seymour's smile doesn't get bigger, but his gaze goes inward at the name 'Audrey'.

"I take it you named him after someone," Sarah guesses, following the lead given by the 'two' in the name. "Audrey, perhaps?"

"Yeah," Seymour replies. "She's my best friend."

And by 'best friend' he means 'girl I'm madly in love with'. Seymour hasn't learned to lie about that, yet.

He shakes himself to bring him back to the conversation. "I like to think it's a good name."

"I think it's a great name," Sarah Jane assures, getting the hint from 'best friend'.

In an odd sort of way that Sarah doesn't quite understand, it almost sounds like the way she describes the Doctor as her best friend.

"And those other flowers?" There's a nod to the ones on his lap. "Are they from your store?"

Seymour blushes faintly as he says, "Aw, thanks.

"These? Oh! Yeah, yeah, they are. People've been coming in a lot - they just gotta take a look at Twoie." His smile grows. "And since they're in a flower shop, they just gotta buy something."

He holds up the bouquet. "Audrey does the arrangements. It's our Dexluxe 'Thinking of You' bouquet. Five whole dollars," he notes with pleasure.

"It's a lovely boquet. Audrey does a great job," Sarah says, eyes glancing back up to Seymour.

"Wherever you got Twoie from, I think he's turned into your good luck charm."

"She does," Seymour replies fondly. "She's really good with colours."

Seymour smiles. "Things are-- they're looking up. I might even be able to buy a camera soon, so if I ever go to another planet I can take photos, like you said." He can spare a few drops of blood here and there.

He looks Sarah over, blinking as a sudden thought hits. "Are you going somewhere?"

"To another planet, actually! Or, well," Sarah shrugs, with a grin. "To Earth. But 31st century Earth. I can't wait."

But having a proper cup of tea before she goes is very important too.
