Birthday party!

Today.

Is a special day.

Today is a day when Nymphadora Tonks is not screaming her head off in agony as she attempts to push a squirming, screeching bowling ball out of her body.

However, it is the first anniversary of that blessed event ( Read more... )

Appearing on the table is a...thing. Its mostly squishy, and may come apart, and is brilliantly colored. It is certainly a thing.

Appearing, but not on the table, is an overly tall man in a gray shirt, black pants, and no shoes.

Anthony sees the thing only. He grabs it and immediately begins to manhandle it.

It is his thing now.

It is his squishy.

Bernard grins and turns to greet the man. "Good to see you."

"Good evening, Bernard." He holds his arms out. Dream is fond of children, and does not get to hold them nearly as often as he would like, "And Tonks."

Tonks beams, unbuckling Anthony from his high chair and handing him over to Dream. "Evening! Good to see you. Er, mind the frosting."

Anthony's covered in it, rather.

He accepts the boy with the ease of more practice than any being such as this one ought be able to call their own, and smiles faintly at Tonks, "I do not mind a little bit of a mess." Or pulled hair, or bapped nose. He's fairly calm about Anthony, really. "Happy birthday, Anthony."

Anthony is used to being handed off to people, and he looks up to both say hello and show New Person his toy!

...But this isn't a new person.

Anthony's grin fades to a strange, un-babylike smile as he looks at Dream steadily and with no fear.

Bernard is a little awed to see it, and says nothing.

His smile isn't one for either of Anthony's parents. It is the other side of the one that Anthony offers him. Neither of them are saying anything, baby or Endless, but it should be fairly obvious that they are talking.

The star eyes move from the tiny face of the child to the less small faces of his parents and Dream's expression from a smile to something rather more knowing. He'll let them think about that for a while.

They will.

She remembers the dream, suddenly, the one before Anthony was born; the opportunity Dream offered her to speak with her son. A smile steals across her face even before she realizes it, and under the table, Nymphadora takes Bernard's hand.
