She has food. There is a fur curing. She has clothing. She has a place.

She and Ash slip into the bar anyway, haunting the area near the lake door so that they can flee if they need to. Can leave if they need to. The white, white woman and the white, white dog simply take in the warmth.

It's harsh and cold outside. Bleah.

Philippus looks up when she hears worn dog nails on the floor, and smiles in greeting.

She dips her head in a greeting as well, eyes flickering toward and away from the woman.

She's just resting, calm and relaxed and warm. And a little sad. Yesterday was tense.

"Hello again. How have you been?" She doesn't remember a name for this face, but she does remember brief conversation. She also doesn't understand the wariness, but accepts it.

"Good morrow. Learning." She says quietly, "Mouse is teaching us to live in the snow."

"Out there?" Philippus was sitting relaxed, but now her arm muscles tighten a little and her spine straightens. "Where will you be when the moon is full?"

Her gaze snaps worry and wary and she holds her tongue. Three (no) days (No!).

"I apologize." She holds a hand out slowly, palm up, soothing gesture. "I-my business is to protect my people, and I still think in terms of safety."

She doesn't know what to make of her at all.

"I don't like walls." She says in a low voice, not angry or upset but waiting for the consequences of confronting someone with power.

The consequence of telling Philippus you don't like walls appears to be a nod. Try telling her you don't like pineapple sometime and see if that goes any differently.

"It might be good if you were to stay closer in to the bar, at least." She pauses. "It's merely that--I'm sure you're aware not everyone here is human." (She wouldn't bet this girl is human, herself.)

The girl is human. Fay, touched, Moonstruck, even, but human. She nods, once, and touches her scarf. She got it from the angel Xas, "I saw a white man, with things." Touching the spots where the Wraith, Michael, has bone and vents.

Philippus doesn't want to scare her, but she does give it to her straight. "I know two men who change to wolf shape on nights when the moon is full. One of them calls it a curse. The other--well, does not like it at all.

"I have heard of no violence, but I stay out of the woods entirely then. I believe they try to go far from the bar. If you were nearer, I would find the thought less of a concern."

She isn't afraid of wolves. Perhaps she should be, but she doesn't know enough to fear wolves of any sort. She nods, and it is acknowledging what has been said, not agreeing to stay near the bar. "Thank you."

"Although I nearly took to the mountains earlier myself. There was singing."

Nanny Ogg has healthy lungs.

"Is that what it was?" She asks, lip curling into an expression of mixed horror and amusement.

Mostly horror.

"I'm afraid so." Really, at home, Philippus probably would have been ordered to keep that sound as far from the Queen as possible.

"I do not think I like singing." She says seriously. That's a traumatizing way to be introduced to something.
