Miniver nods and hands over the key.

"I think everyone must. H'lo again."

[cheevy]

He takes his key back.

"My name's Miniver Cheevy. New York, 1967." He's learning that a where and when is as important as a name in introductions here.

"You too with the later dates. Random has assured me the world won't end in 2000, so that's all right. Are you Bound?"

[cheevy]

"You like it there?" Miniver asks, sipping his coffee. "Does the world ever get any better?"

[cheevy]

"Oh." Miniver sighs sadly, then mumbles, "I'm glad I can't go back, then."

[cheevy]

"It's all right. I didn't have anyone to leave behind who'll miss me as anything more than an inconvenience. My boss, Mister Cory, he'll be pissed, but he'll get some other toad to do his work. My family... ah, I haven't seen them since I walked out at 18. That's all I've got. They'll forget my name in less than a month, I don't doubt."

Miniver shrugs, looking down at his hands, embarassed. "It's all right. I mean... Shit, it's not like I know what I'm missing or anything. And I'm here now, right? Got a new life to look for."
