First Entrance

((OOM: Elsewhere: Boredom and the single faeWARNINGS! For general creepiness and evil.))The door slams shut behind the newest patron of this fine establishment, with what was meant to be a rather obnoxious crash. However, due to the rather annoying properties this place tends to exhibit, it's much more of a thud then a crash, and that serves only to ( Read more... )

Dexter looks up from his usual observations of the bar. He's near enough to the door that he can't miss the obvious entrance of the rather interesting newcomer.

"Hello."

She turns to him, a blisteringly sweet smile upon her face. Never mind the cold breeze that sweeps across the bar at the same moment, a coincidence, surely. This sweet young girl could never have anything to do with the dark and gloomy, despite how much she might wish to portray otherwise.

She does eye him, rather suspicously, for, of course, she is but a sweet girl, and he is a strange man, la, one who might have wicked designs upon her poor person, and she must be wary, yes?

"H-hello?"

Dexter might have been positively affected by her smile and her apparent sweetness, were he anyone but Dexter. But then, he hasn't formed any negative opinions yet, either.

"Is this your first time here?" he asks politely.

"I'd have to say yes."

That question is so inocuous, but, when one is kidnapped to a different realm entirely, everything takes on new meanings.

"I'm, sorrry, sir, but, what is this place?"

"This place is called Milliways. It's a bar at the end of the universe." He gestures to the observation window.

"People are brought here unexpectedly - they're usually intending to go one place, and end up here instead."

He waits for her to digest the impact of the observation window. He takes a sip of the coffee he's been nursing.

Her gaze goes up to the window, and lock on it, the images of the dying universe etched in her eyes. She finds herself unable to look away, to avert her gaze, to do anything but stare at it. Everything, dying, over and over again.

"My god, it's be- breathtaking"

Dexter catches the slip. However, he doesn't comment.

"Would you like a drink? The first one's always on the house."

"Free?"

Not a word she is used to thinking about.

"Completely, asking for nothing in return?"

Sometimes, you have to make sure.

Dexter takes note of both her hesitance and her wording.

"Completely free, with no obligations or strings attached. But only the first one. After that you have to pay the bar for any food or drink, preferably in some kind of official currency. She keeps a tab if you can't pay up right away."

He gestures to the empty chair across from him in clear invitation.

"And how do i get this one?"

She takes a seat, carefully, almost primly. She's feeling regal tonight.

He gestures to a waitrait, who comes over promptly.

"Just tell the rat what you'd like to order. They're the waiters here."

She admires the waitrat for a moment.

"It is intelligent? Well, of course, it has learned to be useful. Hmm, I wonder if they breed well? We could use something like this back home."

Something small, and easily beaten, that wouldn't be missed if it accidentally died. But to the rat itself.

"Winter's tears, if you have it."

The rat scurries away to grant her request. However, it may perhaps seem slightly indignant.

"So where are you from?" Not from Earth, he's gathered. At least not his Earth.

"Chicago."

She's new, she hasn't learned about the other worlds yet. Shudder, multiverse.

She watches as the rat returns witha glass of something white, the rim already frosting over.

"Amazing selection."

"The bar seems capable of creating just about anything from any world, no matter how obscure. She'll usually give you whatever you ask for, though sometimes she'll give you something else, either as a joke or as a statement toward your personal choices. She'll also never give out weapons, since there's a no-violence policy in the bar."

((OOC: I'm going to have to beg slowtime. I have work tomorrow morning and it's already past my bedtime as it is. Can we pick this up tomorrow evening?))

"No violence?"

Maybe that's annoying to her, but there are other ways to win then with violence.

"This place abducts you, then enforces rules?"
