Suzi Darley has developed a love for high-heeled shoes. They're something unknown in her world, in her time, and while many of the women in Milliways are about the same height she is, the fact of the matter is that compared to her lover Suzi is short.
In general her balance sheet (if she were to get around to making one) is firmly in the black; she hasn't had many commissions yet, but the ones she's had have been comfortable and she really doesn't tend to splurge on things like...food. Or alcohol.
And while, in Keon, Rissa Tigue handled the money situation for the entire household, Suzi is bright enough to know that you need more coming in than going out. Tannen Darley is, after all, the owner of a bank.
This does not mean that a catalog full of brilliant red high-heels can not capture her mind and fancy. The catalog, in fact, is one of the most captivating things she's seen yet. If she'd ever met Kaylee, she'd be calling it "shiny".
