And 'lo, there be Lenny.

Eating: Yams and turkey, fully aware that he's a good two or three weeks early. Mmmmmmyams

Reading: The Hobbit. Been way too long.

And yes, before you ask, he has the chicks back.

They're a bit bigger now though. And losing their colored feathers.

"Lenny." Sikozu greets him, holding her hand out to the chicks. "You have been scarce."

A wide grin breaks out over his face and he springs up, pulling out a chair for her.

"Sikozu, yeah, sorry, been coming back and forth, I guess I'm Unbound now, I can come and go as I please. I mean to stay for longer, but I just always seem to miss you."

One of the chicks blinks up at Sikozu, but the others seem to be disinterested in anything but sleep or eating.

"Sorry about the little bugs, they seem to be going through some jerk phase. So how have you been? Y'know, I was gone five years my time? Give or take a few months, but yeah, about five years."

She pats the head of the chick who showed some interest and then lets it be. She's too busy blinking at Lenny now, anyway.

"Five years?" She sits, frowning. "So long. And you still remember this place?"

"Got a memory like a steel trap." He raps himself on the head and smiles cheekily. "I can remember anything. 'Course, it took me a while to figure it out regardless. And I'm from a very boring version of Earth anyway, so this place'd be hard to forget. Trust me on that one."

One of the other chicks peeps up and blinks at Sikozu. :-D!!! So much fluffing!

She smiles down at the chick and then back up at Lenny in turn. However, she says nothing about his memory capacity. She supposes it's posible, even with a human brain.

"And what have you been up to all this time?" Five cycles. That's half the time she's been alive.

"Well, I got a few new jobs since we've last talked, then I got a fantastic idea."

He grins proudly and sticks out his chest.

"I own my own travelling luncheonette."

She blinks again.

"Luncheonette?" Not a word she ever encountered on Earth and certainly not one they have in her own language. Or any of others that she knows.

Lenny thinks a second. "Well, kinda like a restaurant, you know what those are, I bet? Except not as formal. Only serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. I think they're called 'diners' Down Below." He shovels some yams in his mouth.

Swallowing and clearing his throat, "Fantastic. S'almost as good as Mom's."

"I know restaurants, yes." Not that she has much use for them. Most of the time.

"And you travel with yours?"

"Yep. Stock the back of my pickup with food, then travel around to places, like construction sites, events held outside, stuff like that. I have clients." Lenny's quite proud, really.

Sikozu can tell and it makes her smile.

"I am glad for you. You seem very happy with it."

[ooc: I'm sorry I had to check out for a minute there, family business came up.]

"I am. I've got an apartment of my own, I feel much more stable now than I have been in a long while." He grins and rubs the table.

"And yourself? How have you been?"

It sounds terribly normal. And nice. Her smile falters, a little.

"I discovered I am alive and have a door that leads somewhere." She shrugs, absently stroking a random chick. "I have not left, though."

Normal is nice. Lenny's a simple man, with simple needs. It's all he can ask for.

He blinks. "Um. Oh." He hopes that sounds... comforting? "You don't have to leave if you don't want to." No kidding Lenny.

The chick nuzzles in close, almost as if it knows Sikozu's not feeling quite alright.

"I need to do some research first. Find out if I actually will be killed if I go back."

Although she hasn't quite figured out how to do that without actually... going back.

Lenny swallows hard. "How can you know without-" The chick nuzzles at her hand softly.

"I want to help you."
