Michael had downloaded as much information as he could from his ship's computer to the portable unit, before leaving Pegasus for Milliways a second time. Now he's grateful for the precaution. It's a little tricky copying the files to CD-ROM or book format, but he manages, and leaves copies of the data he has on settled worlds for Serena and Thea, as both have expressed some interest in the subject, with accompanying
"I thought you might find these of use, sometime, or interest.I hope that they're comprehensible to you; if you have questions, feel free to chase track me down and ask.--Michael".
The other thing he asks of Bar is a bit more problematic. He pays up his tab and adds to it. Bar's a bit slow to respond. Michael's starting to think that 'practice weapons' was one of the disallowed items, when a pair of metal(sheathed and peace-tied firmly, say thanks) longswords appear on the counter. He didn't ask for a lightsaber. He remembers early weapons training well enough to realize that even with 'only' wood or metal, he's very likely to get his ass kicked, to use human terms, before he gets the hang of it.
He thanks Bar, and takes them, meaning to go in search of Amanda, among other people.
