Sometimes it takes a while to wrap your mind around something. Other times you take a while to hide from something. But not too terribly long this time - she's braver now, you see. By no means brave, but really really trying

The sticking out of necks sometimes has a terrible lot to do with being foolish. Lethe has always been rather completely foolish.
It takes her a bit longer then usual to notice (makes you shiver, too many eyes) for her eyes to blink open curiously, catch on the stare and to hold up a set of fingers in a careful wave.
He catches sight of her on his second or third look around the bar, a face he recognizes sticking out in the crowd. Making his way over, hands in his pockets, Ichigo struggles for a name, and ends up empty handed by the time he gets to her.
"Hey." He greets simply, head tilted a little to the side. "What's up? By yourself?"
"Is that a...yes?" He glances around, but nobody seems to be with her, so he takes it as that. The way her hand rests over her heart strikes him as odd, but he doesn't think too much on it. Probably nothing.
"I...can't remember your name, sorry. What was it again?"
She nods quickly, cheeks flushing apologetically and one hand reaching over to pat the place next to her in invitation.
Just because you are distressed doesn't mean you should forget your manners, Lethe.
She smiles, lips parting wordlessly before she takes a moment to look incredibly exasperated with herself. The fingers over her heart shift, press against the base of her throat, and then flutter noiselessly.
The words barely register and she doesn't even think of (echoes, silence) herself, just of (blood on his fingers) how she hadn't known what happened next, how she watched the door close and couldn't breathe and she didn't have any answers.
Worried, frantic fingers skitter along the edges of him (down his side - did they fix you, said they would fix you - eyelids, cheekbones, heartbeat) then still - a heartbeat - there, safe.
At the sound of his voice she startles, scrambles back, eyes wide and blue - fingers quickly (apologetically) withdrawing.
She flinches automatically (not yours, don't touch) in preparation for him to move away, to disappear again - nails cutting red crescents into her palms and eyes shut tight, chin tucked to her chest.
Shakes her head - not your fault, never your fault.
(Please please do not leave me alone.)
It's okay, it's fine and he doesn't have to stay. He doesn't want to stay and she will not (would never) make him - no sweet words to sway you, no steps to set your way.

She bites down on her lower lip, shrugging apologetically.

"There are, perhaps, more comfortable places to nap, yes?"
Places with less awkward neck angles, certainly.

She shrugs sheepishly.
Automatically shifting closer, tucking her legs under her and fingers curling around his arm.

"So it is not sleeping you are doing, then?"

No. Not exactly napping.
A thoughtful pause (no words, little nymph) and she leans back slightly, presses a finger over her lips.

He's always doing this, so he's not too ashamed.
