Inigo is out by the lake, practicing.

This has become a regular occurance since he started coming here again, but tonight there's something different. The maneuvers he's using are flashier than usual, and more energetic as well.

Almost as if he's showing off to whoever might happen to be in the area.

Adam's outside more and more often, looking for Alanna. Well, she's not out there, but somebody is, and Adam grins, pausing to watch for a bit.

Picking up on the fact that he has an audience, and puts just a bit more performance into his practice.

He may be acting pretty damn cocky right now, but he's got the skill to back it up.

After his time with and helping Alanna (not to mention his own sorely neglected lessons), Adam can see that all too well. The grin widens, and as the man completes a rather complex move, Adam claps.

At the sound of the applause, Inigo turns and comes to a smooth halt, bowing with a flourish.

[last_adam]

"That's quite excellent work."

[seeks_sixfinger]

"Thank you," Inigo says, inclining his head slightly. "It's the product of long study and much practice, but worth all the time spent."

[last_adam]

"You've studied a long time, have you?"

Adam smiles, just a little, and it's quite possible he's wondering whether he should hide the DVD somewhere far away, or pull it out to show to Alanna when she's bedridden.

Inigo nods. "Most of my life."

[last_adam]

"Oh?"

Adam tilts his head to the side.

[seeks_sixfinger]

"Yes--since I was twelve."

Sheathing the sword, he makes a slight bow. "Inigo Montoya. And you?"

[last_adam]

"Adam Young."

Adam nods his head lightly and offers a hand.

"My wife would be impressed. I mean, not to say that I'm not. Simply that-"

Adam cuts himself off, and laughs.

"She's a knight, you see."

[seeks_sixfinger]

Inigo shakes the offered hand, then raises one eyebrow.

"She? I have never heard of a lady knight before."

[last_adam]

"There aren't too many of them."

The shake is firm and impressive, not that he expected else.

"She dressed as a boy to train, and earned her place."

Both Inigo's eyebrows go up at that, and his faint smile widens a bit.

"I see. She must be a lady of much spirit."

[last_adam]

Adam laughs, his grin growing wider.

"You could definitely say that. I think she's going nuts, not being able to practice her swordwork."

[seeks_sixfinger]

Inigo winces in sympathy at the thought of not being able to practice, even before he asks, "Has something been keeping her from it?"
