Norrington is in the bar, pausing on the way to the lake door to collect a bottle.

Catch him before he gets to the door, or at any point on his walk to the Pearl.

Suzi Darley is unlikely to actually get in his way, but for someone who was unfortunate enough to see Davey Jones' crew the tentacles around one particular young woman's arms may be just a hint disturbing.

...they are, mildly, yes. The fact that they are the only tentacles she has, and she's otherwise far, far prettier than anyone on Davy Jones' crew helps.

But he still looks askance at her arms as he passes.

"Sime."

She says absently at the look,

"Sub-mutation of humanity, probably from a long time after you?"

...well, that does make some kind of sense.

"Do you have anything to do with the sea?" he asks anyway, just to be sure.

Not inside the bar. Just in case.

(Not that anything might really come of a simple conversation. But it never hurts to have one's options open.)

Even if Norrington does not recognise the elderly gentleman standing on the lakeshore (looking out toward the Pearl) at first glance, the clothing is a bit of a give-away as to time period. Nearer than most he might see in the bar, at the very least.

He doesn't recognise him immediately, no. But the clothing and Merriman's general demeanour all add up to someone to be respected, and so Norrington gives him a nod and a slight bow of greeting.

The nod and slight bow are returned, a trifle stiffly. Only natural, considering his age.

The bottle itself merits a glance, before Merriman's gaze flicks up to meet Norrington's.

'Taking that with you?'

"For later", he says casually. "Or to keep out the chill, perhaps, during the day."
