Everyone's back at the house. Hotaru Tomoe is at the lake again. She's staring at the waning moon, then down to the the lake it's reflected in, then over at the trees.
Slowly, she steps back to the edge of the forest, taking her time not to miss any important signs or clues that could be lying around. Mostly, she wants to examine a tree that seems different from the others.
"Shining...?" she whispers to the dark. She places one gloved hand, (tonight she's prepared for any sudden excursions to the bar - fully dressed), against the tree trunk. Then she closes her eyes.
Where are you? Can I talk to you...?
Several long moments pass in silence, but she listens, intently. Every time the wind rustles the dry leaves, or the bushes rattle with some creature or other, she furrows her brow a little, startled, trying to be prepared for anything that should pop up.
(("ethaul... methul..."))
She opens her eyes. The faint sound is carried over the wind to her, and seemingly, only her. No one else has even mentioned in passing hearing all these strange songs outside.
She turns around, looks across the lake expectantly.
Nothing.
She starts back to the house.
She nears the edge of the woods, towards the back door. She steps out from the woods.
She hears that voice again. The nothing voice.
- Don't you want to know, young star? -
It's followed by a huge gust of wind that blows so many dead brown leaves into her vision that she can't see anything until they settle.
When the leaves settle, she sees the bar again. She shrugs and starts towards it.
