"Is that gatorade?" Asks a not-quite-British voice at his elbow. Romana has heard of day-glow colored drinks, with the animalistic name, but she's never actually seen one.
She's facinated. She could almost swear that it is emitting light.
Ray glances down and grins. "No, it's not," he says. "Gatorade's not carbonated, for one thing, and it's a lot more see-through. It hasn't got the opalescent sheen, either. This is something I've only ever been able to get from Bar. I don't believe anyone's been able to positively identify it. Hi, Romana."
The drink can wait while he leans down and kisses her hello.
Romana could definitely get used to being greeted that way. It's rather nice.
More than rather nice, actually.
"Hello Ray. Doing any better? I've been reading a bit, and I've learned some very interresting things about the hippocampus as it relates to the rest of the limbic system in relation to memory and artistic skill recall..."
"Much better," Ray says. "Especially since- and I kind of hate to tell you this after all the research you must've been doing- I've found out that the rat part of the phenomenon has nothing to do with the other symptoms I was experiencing. A friend of mine and I managed to isolate what was causing the tendency to communicate in Rat and it's a completely independent issue."
