Last year, she wasn't here for September 18th, and as far as Trillian's concerned that was okay, because then, she was with the people she loved -- and this year, the people she loves are pretty hard to find in one location.
Most of them are not where she is.
So she saw her daughter, and they had breakfast together and went for a boat ride out on Third Moon, and talked about Random's birthday present, who she's still yet to have given a proper name to, discussed a few ideas, and Trillian left, taking the Fiamo to Yokohama for a couple of hours.
When the door to her Yokohama flat turns into Milliways, she's almost not surprised.
After all, fate's conspiring for her to celebrate this birthday.
So she finds herself a table toward the center of the room, a table plenty well-lit, as she is not a) Arithon or b) really very fond of corners, and pulls out Greene's The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions and the Quest for Ultimate Theory.
The best way to spend one's birthday is writing a paper on membrane theory.
[Mun has about 45 minutes before demanding slowtimes, but slowtimes are love, and Kate made me post now anyway generally the best way to catch Trill in general. ♥]
