When a horse gets colic, it needs to be walked. Alanna is applying the same principle to herself, although she keeps Mithros at her side as she ambles along the lake shore. She looks tired and slightly uneasy in her own skin, possibly because not many of her clothes fit her at the moment -- she has resorted to a skirt and one of Adam's longsleeved T-shirts.
Her eyes keep drifting to the Black Pearl.
It's just not fair.
Worried about Jack, she mutters angrily beneath her breath and imagines all the myriad ways she could dunk Elizabeth in the lake.
