Cimorene sees him from across the bar, and he looks just about as worried as she feels. They might as well be worried together though, so she goes on over.
She nods, "Me too. It's just..." she sighs, "we've tried everything, haven't we? We're just stuck here until the door decides to come back. Or until the bar collapses around us, I suppose, which is looking increasingly likely at this point. And even once we did get back, how are we ever going to find Kazul? Our last clue was ages ago, and we don't even know what it means..."
At this point she's incredibly frustrated and getting more than a little disheartened about the whole situation.
Cimorene looks at the non-door balefully, "I can't think of a thing. At this point we're left with saying 'pretty please with a cherry on top' and hoping for the best."
She gives him a look that says quite clearly that she thinks this is a little ridiculous, but shrugs nonetheless and takes his arm and they stroll toward the door.
"Excuse me," she says to the wall where the door used to be, "But we have some rather important business back home, and my dragon may well be in some serious danger. I don't suppose you'd mind terribly letting us out?"
"Hello, Mendanbar," she says, a tad gloomily.

Yeah, that's a little over-melodramatic, isn't it? Let's try again.
"'lo, Cimorene," he says, with a half smile. "How are you tonight?"

She rubs her elbow, "Plus, that last one made me crash into a table."

A glance around the bar.
"I'm really ready to be, well, not here."

He looks up at the ceiling.
"But I think I'd rather not be here with the ceiling comes down."
A sigh.
"Magic didn't work. What else can we try?"

"Well, we haven't tried it yet. It might work."

"What. Ask it nicely?"

He stands up and offers her his arm.

A long moment, in which nothing whatsoever happens, and then, with a shrug, Mendanbar reaches out and tries the door.
And it opens.

"Thank You," she manages, astoundedly, looking through the door. It leads right into Mendanbar's attic.
She looks back at Mendanbar and smiles at him hugely.

"Do you need to get anything? I can stand here and hold the door open."
Reply
"We should go. Right now."
Not a moment to lose.

He turns and looks over his shoulder for a second.
"Let's go home, Cimorene," he says, offering her his arm again.
And they step out of the bar, and back into the Enchanted Forest.
