Shiori is in the bar, with a sunburn and a gameboy color. It's uncertain how many creative ways she can die in the game before she gives it up as a loss. Feel free to distract her before she decides to do something terrible to the game.

"What game are you playing?" came the query from not too far away. His DS was a little louder than her GBC until he slid his thumb down the volume control.

She grimaces at the game and looks up. "Shadowgate. I've almost had enough of it."

"I've never played that one," blinked Eddie, and tried glancing in at the game's screen. He was always, and would always be, curious. "What's it about?"

She tilts the game so he can see better. "You have been drafted by the wizard Lakmir to go to Castle Shadowgate and prevent the Warlock Lord from summoning the Behemoth. To accomplish this, you must make your way through the castle, preferably without getting killed. So far, I haven't had much luck."

He slowly blinks.

"...Suddenly, beating the Elite Four doesn't seem like much of a challenge," he chuckled, then offered his hand. "My name's Eddie."

She laughs slightly, and takes his hand. "I'm Shiori."

"Shiori." He smiled and kissed the back of her hand, proving that he could indeed be polite. "Japanese, am I right?" he asked, suiting language to words. He was fluent, and the language sounded natural to him. Even if he looked thoroughly American.

She blushes slightly, and smiles. "Yes, I am."

He smiled. "It's nice to know I can still spot that. I've been once or twice. Really fascinating."

She nods. "So's this place, really."

Eddie nodded at that. "It is. I'd almost forgotten that."

Absently, he saved his game and turned the DS off, folding it to slip into his pocket. "How long have you been around?"

Shiori rather hastily looks down at her GBC, and realizes that yes, yet again, she has died due to not making sure to keep a torch lit. She frowns at the game and turns it off. "That's a bit hard to say. I've been coming here freely for at least a year, and I was bound for some time before that. How long have you been here?"

((My apologies for the delay - trying to pack and RP at the same time.))

"Well," said Eddie, obviously thinking back. "Just over a year, if you count the time I've actually been in the bar. But outside the bar... I just spent two years back home, though here, only a month or so passed."

::nothing to worry about::

"Time is strange here, yes. Are there people here from your world? Most of the people I know here are people from school."

"My brothers are here," he said. "Or they are sometimes. Karr more than Kitt - he's the silver and black Trans Am. Maybe you've seen him. Bonnie is here sometimes, too, but Karr's here more than the rest."

She blinks slightly, but doesn't press the issue. The only car at Ohtori is a cherry-red Shelby Cobra, and she's never had much interest in western cars. "It's good that you have family here."
