There is, in fact, if you should happen to direct your eyes towards one of the darker corners of the main bar area, a vampire to be found, though you should also know that he's not alone in the sense that he has both a book and a small puppy of a rather affectionate nature in the general vicinity, not to mention a rather over-attentive wait rat who ( Read more... )

She hasn't been in much.

New life.

New home.

New fatherish-type to cling to.

But today finds Claudia in the bar. She has a new dress, one especially chosen for her to bring out the bright blue of her eyes. It's more modern than she had been accustomed to wearing, but it was also more grown-up, as many girls' dresses are in the time she now finds herself. He turns and gives the child a smile, though he senses something off about her. There's nothing exact about what he gets from her, unfortunately, since these new senses still confuse him, but he gives her a nod.

"Hello, little one. Are you here alone, or do you need help looking for someone?"

He's given a Look.

"No. David lets me come and go as I please." Her small hands grip the edge of his table as she peers up at him. "I'm not alone anymore. Who are you?"

She has a very acute awareness of her kind, and he screams her kind.

He blinks in return.

"My name is Nick. And... if you're a friend of David's, then I won't bother you. He's my friend as well."

He nods across the booth.

"If you'd like to sit, I'd be happy to get you something."

...the puppy, for his part, is eyeing her.

Lawrence saunters lazily down the stairs, catching sight of Nicholas after a bit of scanning.

After ordering himself a glass of lemonade, he settles across from the man and sips his lemonade, watching Nick. Not so much with the talking, only watching.

"Any reason you're over there?"

A small smile.

"Well, that all depends on my reasons for not being over there, doesn't it?"

He thinks on it a moment. "Perhaps I enjoy the view."

"There's a better view over here," he says, nodding to the seat next to him.

"I promise."
