Ramon's not had the best night, and he hadn't really planned on coming in. But here he is anyway, for lack of anything better to do.

Anyone observant may notice a slight looseness to his movements, as though he's drunk. This is because he is. But Bar still serves him up another bottle and he slumps on to a sofa to enjoy it. Well, drink it, if not

"Good evening, Ramon."

Raina's perched on the arm of the sofa, regarding him curiously.

He looks up, blinking at her, then away again.

'Hi.'

She leans her chin on the sofa. She hasn't talked to him in ages.

"How are you doing?"

'Fine,' he says, automatically, as he pours himself another drink and throws it straight back.

He's normally tidy of appearance; good clothes, clean shaven, generally well groomed. Today? He is not. Jeans, T-shirt, not shaved and messy hair - Raina can decide for herself if he's lying or not.

'You?'

If the look of him didn't give it away, his scent would. A person's scent changes when they lie. Just a small subtle difference sometimes, but there.

This may be why she raises a brow at him. An unspoken 'oh really?'

"I'm doing pretty well. Meeting more people as I stay here. Learned that my up coming death will be about as fun as I thought."

He glares at the raised eyebrow. He doesn't like it when people question his statements.

'Well, that must be fun for you.'

There's bite in his tone. He's not a placid drunk.

She gives a smirk and it isn't at all nice, her tone shifting to match his. "Oh yea, great fun."

She glides her cheek against the sofa, an almost unconscious move as she studies him. It's very animal scent marking territory, only in human form she's actually missing the glands for it. "So, aside from drinking what have you been up to?"

'Is that any of your business?'

Drinking. Working. He set guard dogs on someone who pissed him off three days ago. The blood had been a welcome distraction. But he can't talk normally at the moment, there isn't polite conversation in him. Everything's wound too tightly for that.

'How's Martin?'

"Depends. Will it effect the Martin you're raising?"

She does have a thorough interest in his well fare currently. She's found that blood is always a nice distraction when done properly.

"He's doing alright."
She's not completely sure of that answer, though she hides it well.

He laughs. Just quietly, but it gets louder, gradually.

'Ah yes. The Martin I'm raising.'

The honest answer to that is...yes. Probably. Lets just say that it's a good thing time doesn't move when he's in the bar, otherwise the child would be on his own right now.

'He wasn't doing so well last time I spoke to him.'

It's just an observation. Little interest is conveyed in his words.

She gives a small frown, her eyes narrowing just a touch.

"Why do I feel I'm missing a piece of the equation you have? When I said you I meant the implied you and Random. Has something changed?"

Raina so isn't a child person. She wouldn't know motherly instinct if it stabbed her in the heart. So, the whole leaving a kid on their own, she'd probably end up doing if timed passed.

"Considering what he's going through, he's holding up well."

'Mind your own business.'

He could lie and say that nothing's changed, but he refuses to justify his statement to her.

'He started remembering anything yet?'

She gives a small bare of teeth, part way between a grin and something more hostel.

"It is my business of sorts."

At least it works out that way in her mind.

"Not that I know of, that he's told me."

That's a good thing. He doesn't want Martin remembering that Random went away, because he wants to avoid explanations about his mother for a very long time to come.

But he won't explain that to her, of course. He just glares at her.

'No. It is not your business.'

She watches him carefully, her fingers drumming a small rhythm against the couch.

"If it effects Martin, it is."

'Martin's not your son,' he points out flatly. 'If he wants you to know, he can talk to me or Random and tell you afterwards.'

Of course, talking to Random is impossible right now and very few conversations between he and the boy work out well. But the sentiment is correct.
