She glances over, a quick nod.

"Afternoon. How're you?"

"I'm pretty good. And you? Have you been home lately?" His usual flippant tone fades on asking this.

There's a very definite pause, and she looks away.

Has she noticed the vampire lounging over there on the couch. He looks like he's sleep, though it's probably not. He may just be skimming minds of random people in the bar. Easiest way to pick up what's going on and all.

"We're fine." She says, rubbing Jack's back subconsciously. "CJ's been looking after us."

A head tilt. "Have you eaten?"
