"Origami?" asks Nicole, innocently, leaning over his chair to watch.

Too close. He can feel body heat; that's too close.

He scoots away slightly, then peeks at the woman from the corner of his eye and does a bit of a double take.

"... uh. Just folding."

Nicole (Elizabeth, Louise, Estella?) smiles.

"One of the corners," she points out, calmly, "it's just a tiny little bit off."

It might really be, she might just be playing. Either way, she's usually a terribly convincing person.

Monk's expression goes from calm to near panic.

"You're right," he says, squinting.

... a tiny little bit is really like, 1/100th of a centimeter. But still! It's off. The detective is now dead set on fixing it, he is.
