"Really? That's some time before my own, I'm afraid. The only other person I know from around then is rather a ghost, and has been for some time now..."
A quick word, and a large blanket appears on Bar's surface for Archie to grab on his way over. Apparently she was thinking the same thing.
"Sir, you look half done-in. Come sit down..."

Archie is a kind man. Or he tries to be. Oh look, another cup of tea, which is promptly pressed into the other man's hands.
"May I ask what happened to bring you here in such a state?"
Perhaps he should first ask whether he's been here before at all, but Archie's got the idea that he's seen this fellow around before.

"A storm blew up, and the ships were forced to a landing. And then the Saxons..."

This he understands quite well, yes.
"Ah... bad luck. Where were you?"
Saxons, must be from far before his time. A little voice in his head whispers that no, not so far off at all, but Archie ignores it.

He sips his own tea thoughtfully.
"Who is the king in your day, sir?"

"Oh, my apologies. I am Archie Kennedy, lately of His Majesty's ship the Renown"
