There is a gargoyle pacing the length of the bar, head down the entire way until he comes to the wall where a door should be. Then he stands and regards it before turning and making another lap in his pacing ( Read more... )

There is a tiny (5'2"), emaciated (think: just got out of a concentration camp), dark man in green silks watching him.

"Ama'idan, is there aught I may assist with?"

He offers his hands (twigs and leather, dried out and frail), cupped in them is his Security badge.

Goliath stops and frowns at the man, stooping slightly to be more on level with him. "I am fine. Are you?" He's ready to offer a supporting arm but doesn't want to scare the man.

He's used to everyone being taller than him, and he smiles (not pretty, currently),

"I heal. The price was well worth the results. You are new, here, I think."

He puts the badge back on his belt, movements holding a certain form of grace which he only manages when he is moving from purest willpower;

"I am Arithon s'Ffalenn, Master of Shadows and member of Security."

He watches the man carefully but despite his appearance he seems to be holding up fairly well. Goliath draws back seeing the man doesn't need help but remaining stooped so he doesn't have to look up.

"My name is Goliath. I came here last night." And now it is day and that has him confused as much as everything else. "I don't mean any trouble, I just need to leave."

"You need not remain crouched."

He says mildly,

"Although the thought is welcome. I regret that I can not change the mind of that which rules this bar in regards to those Bound and unBound."

This player can't recall if the stone-thing is a curse, in which case Arithon could possibly tell that there is some form of curse on Goliath, or a natural thing in which case he'd have absolutely no clue why the large being is confused. So,

"All that I may do is direct you to the fact that the Lady Bar can provide a room to stay, if you need shelter while you learn whatever lesson has brought you here."

"It is no trouble." He says. He's become used to it when dealing with humans most times. "It seems I am trapped her then."

He sighs. Stone slumber is just a way of life for him, not a curse, although once there was one but it was broken when he was reawakened in New York. Now though, 'normal' sleep is something he's never experienced or had to consider.

"I'm afraid I may need that, thank you. Though, if it require payment I have none."

"My first of friends, Joe Manco, left funds to be used for the Bound. It is his lasting legacy."

Arithon performs a complicated movement with his hands which means "rest in peace" in some arcane manner. Sort of like crossing yourself at the mention of the dead, but with less religion involved.

Right. Yes. Its been a long time, alas, since this player got to watch the show,

"To be Bound is not exactly the same as being trapped, unless you choose to live so. The veiw is yours to take; to find the joy and knowledge offered as a gift or to simply wait and mark time."

He bows his head in mark of the dead then regards Arithon. "You sound a wise man. I don't know how I've come here but perhaps since there is nothing that can be done I will, take in this new place. There is certainly a lot here to explore and learn from."

"I have had,"

he says mildly,

"a life which is counted short by many but has been...intense."

And the very way he looks right now bears witness to the "intense" portion,

"I have heard it said that we appear at will of the Landlord, but I do not know the truth of it. Out the back door,"

He points to the lake door, which is always visible,

"is the grounds and the lake. There is also a forest, but should you venture within beware. On nights of the full moon the werewolf pack runs, and at all times the woods are a part of the Dreaming."

"Landlord, who is this landlord?" Because now Goliath must speak to them.

He looks to where the man points and nods, "It is good to know I'm not confined to just this area here. What is the Dreaming?"

"The name gifted to the force which brings us here."

He moves his hands in an apologetic gesture,

"There was a quest to find him, some year back, which failed. The Lady Svava, who is a blond woman of not much larger than I, was one of those who searched.

The Dreaming is the physical representation of dreams. All of them, from all beings in all worlds and times. It encroaches upon us, here. At times a fragment of it manifests in a form which we may speak to, this form is called Dream of the Endless."

Arithon is afraid of Dream. This is because Arithon ticked him off. The ways we keep from RPsterbation.

Goliath frowns, "So there is no one then who can help me get back."

He scratches his chin and looks back towards the lake door again, "All that out there. This is an enchanted place indeed."

"It is possible, but unlikely."

He looks like he does because he was looking for something across universes. Helping someone get unBound is far outside his range of abilities,

"Ama'idan."

He looks at the man curiously, "I'm sorry?"

The best part about being as dark as Arithon is that you can't tell when he's blushing,

"Yes. I am sorry, ama'idan. It means please forgive me in the old language of my world."

"Oh." Goliath nods then waves his hand. "I am grateful to you talking to me, helping me understand this place a little more. I think I will take your advice and learn more about here then spend time pacing and waiting on a door."
