Ed has been ordered to rest, and to do a heck of a lot of it. He has been told he needs to stay in the bar, preferably around his room. Ed... doesn't like being told what to do, even if it might be good for him

Not to Steph, either. Who's watching him from the hillside, arms folded.

"Exactly what are you doing, Elric?"

"What's it to you?" He retorts, and tosses a stone in with a particular force.

"I seem to remember telling you to rest," Steph points out, eyeing him.

"Yep," Ed confirms, and walks off a foot or two.

Apparently he's not planning on listening.

Roy is outside as well, as it happens. He looks a bit worn around the edges himself, but then perhaps he has a right to be. After all, he's only recently returned to Central after an inspection tour of the various military outposts around Amestris and their resident Alchemists.

And no sooner had he gotten back then he ended up in Milliways. Joy. Figuring that the lakeside was more peaceful than the bar proper, that's where he's decided to go.

Also, there's probably less chance of running into a certain over confident, under-skilled bat-brat out here.

Roy runs a bare hand through his hair and heads over toward Ed, eying the pile of rocks with understandable trepidation.

'Do I want to know?'

Ed glances at him and shrugs, before heading off a few steps to find other rocks.

This is... his entire form of answer, apparently.

The answer may very well be 'no.'

Roy follows Ed on his mission, naturally.

'How are you feeling? Any better? Did you actually see a doctor?'

Yes, many questions. He's been gone a while, after all.

"Yes," Ed says, his voice a little flat. "I saw a doctor, I'm sick, it'll get better, it's fine."

He finds a rock, and throws it at the pile.

"What are you doing, Ed?"

Duo appears almost out of nowhere, poking his nose into the middle of things.

"Stacking rocks," Ed answers.

...it is what he's doing!

Duo scratches his head.

"To what purpose, if I can ask. I mean... are you doing feng shui, or something?"

Ed stops in his tracks.

"Doing what now?" he asks, his nose wrinkling a bit. He gives Duo a funny look.
