Richard wanders into the bar carrying the remnants of what was once a very large cake. There's still quite a bit left, so Richard sets it out on a table with a "Help Yourself" sign, gets a cider from the bar, and plops down into a chair.

It's been a good day.

Richard laughs and hugs Charlie tightly.

"Hallo, mate. Have a good day, did you?"

"I'm amazingly well. Been overwhelmed by family and fed far too much food."

He doesn't sound upset about this at all.

Charlie grins at him, kisses the top of his head and says, "Hrm, you seem to have something in your ear . . ."

He pulls out a Loonie.

He has no idea where it came from, but it's a rather pretty coin, don't you think?

He laughs and takes it.

"I see the Canadians tip well."

He points to the table.

"Do have some cake, there's way too much."

"Cake!" He jumps and slices himself off a piece. "Thanks.

"So what did you do today?"

"Hung about with the Perunus for a bit. Gary and the boys are still there. I stepped out to get some air and pass out cake."

He slips a small bottle of uzo out of his jacket pocket and hands it to Charlie.

"Here, share it with Darien, and water it generously."

But he wants to.

He hugs Charlie.

"Oh, just, the same as ever. Talking to people, looking after Darien. Got a card from a luck god last night--I'm not sure what I should do with it but it's made me feel pretty good."
