Claudia is curled up on a couch. She's wearing a simple dress this early in the morning. Not sure why, but it was what Bar had given her when she'd asked for a new dress. She missed Louis buying her lovely, expensive gowns

He doesn't know why he wants to coe ito the bar right now, but hey. H's never needed an excuse before. So, there he is, coming n the front door, and when he sees her, he smiles.
Util he notices there's something different about her. Then he's just blinking as he goes to her.
"Bonjour, mon petit chérie."
Yes, he's been learning French for her. Even if themun can't remember it properly.
"What did she make you promise, and what did you wish?" he asks, although he's fairly sure he already knows what the wish was, considering the circumstances.
She stays happily in his arms, fingers curling in his hair.
"She said I had to be a good girl. It was no life for her daughter, her treasure, to be killing and cruel and unmerciful. She said I had to promise to not kill, and that the people I eat should be willing to give it to me. I agreed, because she looked so sad, and then she said for me to repeat my wish. It was that I could be as I was before Armand interfered in our lives!"
He doesn't look quite as happy as she does, though for the most part, the pleasure of it stays in his eyes. The rest of it - the promise that she made, to deny a part of herself, shows plainly on his face.
"You never said that your mother was a witch, dear."
He nods, and takes her to a seat, sitting down with her on his hip.
"And you don't mind what she made you promise?"
If she doesn't mind, then he won't mind - and he will be able to take her home, and care for her, and take her out to hunt without fear of her turning into a true and proper ghost, and not some figment of Lestat's imagination or the product of a bar that shouldn't exist.
She rests her head against his shoulder, feeling safe.
"You wanted me to be a good girl, too. I like killing and hunting and playing, I do. But... I couldn't if I didn't promise. And she was so sad to know what her treasure had become. What delights I took."
"What rules?" Claudia asks hesitantly, her fingers coming to play with the feather in her hair.
She'd already agreed to many that would force her to be something different than she was. She didn't want more to make her into something wholly unrecognizable!

"David!"
In an instant, the newly alive vampire child is in his arms.
"Mama made me alive again! I can leave the bar!"
Reply
"Goodness me."
And then there is beaming, all fangs and gums.
"How did this happen?" he asks as he spins her around in the air.
Reply
"I don't know. I was curled in Mama's lap, she made me make some promise, and then told me to make a wish!"
Reply
"She made you promise something?"
He frowns for a moment.

Claudia grins even brighter.
"And it happened!"

"She wasn't. Not that I knew of. But... it was her. The smell, the feel... everything."

Claudia sniffles.
"I never wanted to make Mama cry like that."
Reply
"I want you to be happy, Claudia. Lord knows, you deserve to be after the things you went through."
Reply
That was what mattered to her.
Having family once more.
Reply
"Yes, you can. And you shall."
A kiss to her forehead.
"You know my Loki already, don't you?"
Reply
No one had done that before!
"Y-yes. He didn't like me stalking the children."
Reply
Well, she shouldn't.
"But you're more than welcome to come and live with us in Loki's house. I'm sure he'll have more rules for you than I have, but all the same..."
