Darman had only ever been unprepared for situations a number of times in his short life. Losing his vode - Theta Squadron, the reaction of some of Qiilura's not so grateful citizens, Etain. Oh fierfek, Etain.
Winding up in Milliways for the first time was not something he had been entirely ready for, but it wasn't a situation Darman had necessarily been unprepared for. But for a second time, especially so soon, well, Darman couldn't help but be a little off his guard.
Especially when he and Niner had been on their way to Fearless' mess hall. Darman turns to look at his brother briefly before giving Milliways a long and studious stare.
He couldn't help but hope that maybe, this time, a door had opened on Qiilura to let Etain in, too.
