[OOC: If I didn't think it was such a bad idea to have his first encounter being something that doesn't speak Engligh, I would so be tagging this. Fangirling. Definitely.]
"You all right?" This from one of the couches by the fire, where... well, someone's working on a sewing project. Here's another question: Does putting up with a guy who does the whole Drag For Comic Effect thing make the priest any better at spotting the more convincing acts?
Father Mulcahy's mouth opens and closes once or twice before he turns to look at whoever has spoken. There is an even longer moment of silence. "I believe," he says helplessly and very slowly, "I'm a bit lost."
Probably? Well, whichever pronoun he ends up choosing, Angel will go along with it. "Guess the door snuck up on you, then - from what I've seen, it likes doing that to people. Welcome to Milliways. I'm Angel, by the way."
Mulcahy glances back over his shoulder quickly, as if the door is going to sneak up on him even further, but it seems to be staying in one place. "Father Francis Mulcahy," he says by way of introduction, looking around, wide-eyed.
After a moment of that, some of the shock seems to have worn off; he looks back to the young ... person. "I'm sorry; my manners seem to be, well, lacking," he says, still rattled. "Where did you say we are?"
To anyone who's been in Milliways for a while, that expression tends to signify one who clearly is not where he expected to be.
Merriman happens to be passing by with a tea-cup in hand, and he pauses at the sight of the army chaplain.
'Good evening, Reverend,' he says quietly, with a bit of a smile. 'Or Father, as the case may be. I tend to default to the Church of England, though....' He peers at the chaplain's clothing more closely, and his smile widens a bit. 'No, not likely for an American.'
Father Mulcahy turns fast. "Father," he says with the faintest of politely bewildered smiles. "I'm sorry, but, what in the world--" He waves a helpless hand out over the bar.
Merriman sets his cup down on the nearest vacant table, and idly brushes a little chalk dust from his teaching gown.
'It is a little complicated to explain at first,' he says wryly. 'But first things first. Where were you intending to go -- that is, when you opened the door?'
"I was stepping into my tent to work on Sunday's sermon." A bit of wobbly, wry humor comes through the confusion. "Not that many will be in the audience to hear it."
"I thought you had that look about you." Her smile turns a touch sympathetic. "Why don't you have a seat? This place takes some explaining, and most of it is rather...well, startling might be putting it mildly."

Mulcahy takes off his glasses, polishes them, and puts them back on his face.
There are no words.
