Maybe that's coffee in Ennis' hand; most like it's something quite a bit stronger. Either way, there's a hint of a smile on his face (unless you go by the name of Miss Lilly Kane). He's stretched out on the couch, comfortable like, hat pulled down to just cover his eyes.

Amy has tea. It's very strong tea, but it's probably not anywhere near as strong as what Ennis is drinking, whatever that is.

"Good evening, Mr. Ennis."

So's long as what she's drinking is still tea, ain't nowhere near's strong. He smiles, though, lightly, and tips his hat in greeting.

"Evening, Miss Amy."

Probably best that way, says a voice somewhere in Ennis' head.

"Can't complain."

Well, he could. But got no reason to, really.

Mal is back at the fire, curled deeply into the rug, asleep with the tired determination of one who doesn't sleep very often at all.

And by the way she's stirring, and mumbling, and occasionally flinching, maybe it's for a good reason.
