Joshua's First Birthday
There's a small celebration going on at the coffee table by the fireplace. It's Joshua Mayhew-Perunu's first birthday, and most of his immediate family is gathered around him.
They'd wanted to keep things simple and quiet, so there are no balloons, streamers, or noisemakers, but there are plenty of cupcakes, sweets, and presents. The birthday boy in question has already devoured three cupcakes and is hovering over the gifts.
