The time has come once again; Eddie's favorite Happy Hour theme night.

Welcome to Milliways Bar Happy Hour

Name-Your-Own-Cocktail Night!

You give me a name. I'll invent the drink that goes with it on the spot.

Stump me and drink free for the night!

"Step right up, folks. I'm Eddie Dean, and I'll be your bartender tonight. What can I get ya?"

She's been adjusting to just ordering from the bar, but Beverly looks relieved to see a tender behind it tonight, all the same. It's a bit of normality she's happy to cling to.

"Can I get a cherry soda and a cheeseburger, please?"

"Sure." Bar takes care of the cheeseburger, and Eddie pours a cherry sofa over ice. "I'm Eddie."

Bev smiles, shyly, but with less wariness than she would have shown a few days ago. "Thank you. I'm Beverly."

"Welcome to Milliways, Beverly," he says. "I haven't seen you in here before."

Bev takes a bite of cheeseburger and a sip of soda, then nods.

"I got here a few days ago. And...I haven't been out of my room, much, since then."

"Oh, are you Bound here?"

"If that's what you call it when there's no door, yeah." Bev's smile is gone. "Some people said time doesn't usually pass at home when you're stuck here, though..."

"That's what I've heard," he agrees. "Are you doing okay?" She's young.

She shrugs.

"Yeah. I guess. I just...still don't know that much about this place, and I'm stuck here."

"What is it you'd like to know? I'm the assistant manager, so I'll try to help all I can."

"Oh, you are?" Bev bites her lip, thinking for a moment.

"Someone I met mentioned rules, but he didn't really say what they are. And...I guess I'm just kinda worried that a bar's not a good place for me to be on my own, you know?"

"The rules are simple, anyway. No violence--that covers all kinds of hurting people, not just punching and kicking."

"Second, no business. That means not bringing in trouble from your past. Your worst enemy has the right to come here in peace--and you have the right to be here in peace, even if your worst enemy is around."

"Third, no sex out in the bar. And yeah, we had to make that rule to stop certain people. Crazy, huh?"

"If you ever feel in danger or need help, look for somebody with a badge--that's our Security team. Or just scream for help. And if it's less of an emergency, you can always come find me or my boss--he's a guy with red hair like yours, all in black. Name's Bernard."

Bev doesn't react visibly to the no violence rule.

At being told her worst enemy has the right to come here in peace, she pales. Noticeably.

...But not for very long, because the next rule has her choking on a sip of soda and blushing.

"You had to make a rule about that?"

"It became necessary," he says, smirking.

Beverly facepalms.

"When I get out of here, I am never telling my parents any of this."

Beat.

"...Not that I was going to tell them any of it before that."

"That's probably a good plan."
