The door flies open.

There should, it seems, be a crash of thunder lit by a flare of lightning sillhouetting a dark cloaked figure in the doorway... But there isn't.

Sharpe's there, badge pinned on and visible.

Because it looks like this could turn violent.

Agnes sees the security badge and rushes over.

"Please, you have to stop them! Walter only knows stage fighting! He's going to get hurt!"

Sharpe looks at her, then back at the duellers.

"Looks like he's holding his own well enough to me, miss. But you're right, this isn't the place for it."

He starts towards them to break up the fight. And then Meg gets grabbed, and he's moving.

Agnes is right beside him, trying to get around to Salzella's other side.

"Be careful," she hisses to Sharpe as she passes. "He's crazy!"

"Got that idea when I saw him come in. Trust me, miss, I've dealt with madmen before."

Agnes tries to jump Salzella as Walter spins Meg away, but she can't move beyond the periphery.

It's here too! It's Opera.

"There's Opera Magic here!" she calls over to Sharpe. "You have to wait for the right cue. Be ready!"

Sharpe rolls his eyes. Opera magic. Great.

He waits, though, poised and ready.

[balletrat]

*Recognizing Sharpe, Meg shoves the headless rose into his hands as she stomps over to the sidelines.*

Here, *she informs him.* Evidence.

She waits until Meg is clear and then waves to get his attention again.

"Um. You don't have, like, a hero theme or something, do you? Because if you do, I'd listen for that."

[and_far_away]

Sharpe takes the stem automatically, blinking, then turns back to Agnes.

"A hero theme? Not as I know of."

It will, of course, be the theme from his TV show.

She frowns.

"Oh. Well... listen for one anyway. You just might not have heard it before."

[and_far_away]

"I will", he promises, mostly seriously.

And then Walter thrusts, and Agnes stares.

That didn't go under his arm.

"Oh... my."

"...oh, hell."

The man doesn't seem to be falling over, though. And Sharpe still can't get to them.
