At some point during the night or day, a sign went up in the main bar.

It just reads:

Could friends and family of Kim Bauer, Shelley Winters, Nita Callahan and Trillian Astra please contact Michael Guerin or Ford Prefect as soon as possible?

Angela reads the note, alarmed.

Oh, god...what's happened?

And she doesn't know either of those people, and she's beginning to panic a little.

Michael is keeping an eye on who reads the note, when he can be in the bar, and comes over.

"You know one of them?"

[angela_edmunds]

"Kim's my mom. And Nita...she's like my aunt. What's going on?" she asks, trying and failing to keep her voice from shaking.

He winces.

"...I'm sorry. I think... they're in a lot of trouble."

[angela_edmunds]

Angela visibly pales. "What...what sort of trouble?"

[rebelheartalien]

He hesitates before he answers, then ushers her to a chair.

"The last time anybody saw them here... they were going through a portal. Following someone we're pretty sure was.... did Kim or Nita ever mention the name Elan Morin to you?"

Angela sits down, a little shaky, and shakes her head. "No, she hasn't."

[rebelheartalien]

"He's... dangerous. We think he came here for Shelley... why the others went after them, I don't know, unless they were being controlled or they were trying to help..."

[angela_edmunds]

"My Mom would help. That's what she does," Angela says faintly.

[rebelheartalien]

Michael nods. "Nita, too. So."

[angela_edmunds]

"Thanks for letting me know."

Her hands lay curled in her lap, and she studies them.

Somehow, this is my fault.

[rebelheartalien]

He can see what she's thinking even if he hadn't just heard it loud and clear.

"It's not", he says gently.

[angela_edmunds]

Angela pinches the bridge of her nose and squeezes her eyes shut.

"Am I so easy to read?"

Her eyes are burning with tears.

[rebelheartalien]

"Right now? Yeah." He pauses. "Look... is there anyone I should find for you?"

[angela_edmunds]

Angela bats tears from her eyes and stands up. "No...no, I'll be fine. I've got to babysit for a friend."

She puts on the Brave Angela Face. "I gotta go and get the kid." She takes a breath. "I'll be worried, but I'll be okay."
