She watches him from the bar, a glass of wine in one hand, green eyes full of calm interest.

"The bar knows your tastes, it would seem."

"Delighted to meet you-- both of you," he adds, addressing Kaisa. Jack gives a surprisingly elaborate bow, adding, "Captain Jack Sparrow, of the Black Pearl."
A beat.
"I don't suppose you've heard of me."

"I cannot say I have, Captain Sparrow--but we're likely from different worlds."

"At least your friend's not a monkey. Nasty little creatures."

"They can be so, in my experience. And Kaisa is more than a friend--he is my daemon."
