Ever since seeing the Exile yesterday, Handmaiden has become obsessed with finding her way back to the Ebon Hawk.

So! One white-clad ghosty-looking woman prowling around the Bar, staring very intently at the walls. As soon as she finds a door, she is out of here.

The Exile is watching her prowl. Intently. With her head tilted. "What are you doing?"

"I am searching for the door," Handmaiden replies matter-of-factly as she prowls.

Isn't it obvious?

"...oh." Kira just stares at her. "Well, I'll follow you 'round while you do that. And talk. Do you think I should risk you life because you've pledged yourself to me?"

Say no! Say nuuuuu!

It also doesn't occur to Kira to just point out where the door is to the Handmaiden.

"I knew the risk when I chose to sneak aboard yout ship," she responds, pausing a moment to glare up at a particularly dark corner of the rafters. "As I did when I offered you my help."

"The door's not up there." Kira interjects. "And you didn't really answer the question."

She takes the Handmaiden by the shoulders and turns her to where Kira sees the door. "See it?"

Handmaiden stares blankly at the wall for a moment before shaking her head.

She turns back to the Exile. "Forgive me, but my life is not yours to risk. I pledged it freely, and if you do not honor my help..." she trails off. "Then I suppose I must return to Telos."

She doesn't really want to go back. Not now.

"No, no, no." Kira shakes her head. "I don't want to risk your life. At all." She smiles softly. "And I'm glad you don't want me to. It's just that...Kreia...and Atton both seem to think I should take someone with me on my final mission.

"But anyone I take would die...so, I'm not taking anyone."

Handmaiden frowns a frown of great frowning. "I think you misunderstand. I risk my life freely for yours, whether you wish me to or not. You cannot accomplish your mission alone."

So this must be why Atton was so frustrated at the Exile earlier. Handmaiden is beginning to get the holo.

Kira throws her hands up. "No!! Kriffing hells, no! I'm doing this alone!"

She stalks away, a few feet, muttering under her breath.

Too bad she doesn't know that the Handmaiden leaves with Kreia anyway.

Only because she thinks the Exile is dead.

"Then you dishonor all of those who wish to help you, and you will fail." She sounds resigned. If the Exile is from the future... but so was Atton, and he did not mention her death. These timelines are so confusing.

"If I fail, Atton doesn't exist anymore. His friends from 4000 years in the future, don't exist, or at least they don't live their lives. Instead, they'd be servants for the Sith, or for the Mandalorians, or something." Kira snaps. "I have to do it alone!"

"That is why you cannot do it alone," she insists. "By insisting on this course of action, you take away our choices and doom yourself to failure."

All of this talking is making her head hurt. Especially since she doesn't know about Malachor V yet, and is still thinking in terms of the hunt for the Sith.

Kira turns around. "I don't think anyone will be able to come with me. I feel something else is going to happen. But then, I don't have any great foresight."

Handmaiden shakes her head... she's not exactly sure how to reply to that.

She turns around again to examine the wall Exile had pointed out earlier, and suddenly stops breathing. It's there. She can see it. The Door.

Kira watches the change in the Handmaiden, and smiles softly. "Go back. And keep me safe for now, okay? And anytime you want to spar, just ask."

The Handmaiden nods once, briefly. "I will."

And then? She steps through the door and is gone.
