One of the benefits of having a full roster of employees for the stables is that Caspian now finds himself with rather more time on his hands than he's used to, which leads to this:

Sitting by the fire with the remains of an early supper and what's left of a pint of ale, twisting rope. The lake is thawing, after all, and it wouldn't do to put the Hope out on the water with faulty sheets, would it?
