Max's people watching has a little more focus today than it usually does. She's definitely looking for someone in specific. Or rather, trying to avoid someone in specific, but as that involves knowing where they are, or might be, it looks rather similar.

Anyway, edgy looking X5 in a booth, with coffee. Feel free to bother, just don't sneak up on

"Evening."

Cain raises a glass to her in salute.

She gives him a hard, assessing look, then inclines her head very slightly in greeting.

"How do you do?"

His voice is pleasant, and his eyes curious. A beautiful, hard woman, this one, and interesting.

"Fine." It's a little terse. He's not one of the few people here she calls friend, which means at the moment, he is under suspicion. "You?"

"Eh, I'm alright. Just wandering about and enjoying the scenery."

he shrugs with a smile.

"Look, you obviously arent in a talkative mood. My apologies for bothering you."

He nods his head to her and turns back to his drink and his book.

"Didn't stop you last time," she points out, not-so-helpfully.

He admitted flat out to being the first murderer. Gotta expect some degree of antipathy, really. Or at least paranoia.

He shrugs. "I thought you looked like someone who might like to talk. I was wrong. Sue me."

he shakes his head.

Maybe, but she of all people should know what you once were isnt what you are. He is a million years old, how much has she changed in just 20-some?

"Can't. Severe allergy to lawyers."

Not so much. She's still an weapon, still a killer. It is simply that those around her like to pretend differently.

He blinks.

"Look, I'm sorry I bugged you. You are beautiful, and interesting, and you looked... eh,. out of sorts. No one deserves to be alone, so I said hello. Obviously, you dont have anything to say to me, and there is no reason you should, so I am just going to go back to my reading and stop bugging you."

he waves a hand and firmly reaffixes his attention to his book.
