There is a Heero at a table nearby. Duo's state earns a raised eyebrow from him. "I'm assuming," he says, getting up and approaching, "That not everything went quite according to plan?"

He coughs, and suggests something rude about the makers of the bomb, in crude Japanese.

"I hate amateurs."

Heero can make at least three guesses as to which happened, but he's always preferred the method of asking. "What happened?"

He studies Duo, trying to judge if there's any damage. Nothing looks serious - unless he happened to be allergict to soot.

"Answered a call. Some ass setting a bomb in Mayhew's offices. April Fools." His tone is wry.

"Except the joke's on me and him, 'cause it went off tonight, while I was messing with it."

"In trouble again?" Max is watching him from her usual booth, the amusement in her expression not quite masking the unvoiced concern.

"Me? Don't be silly. But if they so much as singed my hair, someone will be. Big trouble."

Duo hauls himself to his feet.

"Hmmm...might be hard to tell under all the soot, don't you think?" She grins slightly. "Playing with fire?"

"Someone else was. Someone showing their appreciation for some schmuck politician, and not thinking about who has to clean up the mess."

He eyes himself, and coughs. "And their timing sucks."

Raven blinks at him from very nearby.

"It was the baking, perhaps?"

"If it was baking, I'd look worse," Duo informs him from the floor.

Raven peers down at him.

"Also if you were a clown."

This is always good information to have.

"Clowns are particularly bad at baking?" He'll have to ask.
