A young man with a long braid drags himself off the floor and flops into a chair at Thom's table.

"Y'mind? My knees are about to give out, I think." He's still smoldering a little in a few spots.

"Thanks." Duo slaps out an ember on his pants.

"This is the second April Fools Day I've had this job. It's really not as fun being on the other side of the 'jokes'."

"Basically? It's a day where you play pranks on other people. 'Cept someone decided it might be funny to set a bomb. Not a very dangerous one, unless you're right on top of it and it goes off early."

He crosses his arms and grumbles.

Duo is carefully inspecting his hair, at this point.

"I have this sinking feeling that you're laughing at me on the inside."

*Thom holds out a hand.* I'm Thom.

"Everyone else does," Duo replies with an equally nice deadpan. "Duo Maxwell. Thanks for the chair."

"You almost look like you're having a worse day than me, and that's a trick. Drink?"

Duo gets up, trying to brush himself off a little. "What's your poison for the evening?"
