There is a father and son in the bar.

Father a bit wan looking, and the son eating abashedly. He's in big trouble and he knows it.

Come and talk to one, or the other. John Preston in the bar to clear things up.

She's certain to make some noise as she approaches. Some people, you just don't want to risk sneaking up on. Her gaze flicks from Robbie, to John, and back. Assessing, maybe.

"Hey. How's it going?"

Robbie turns first, "....Hi!"

His smile's bright despite his little escapade, "I'm okay."

Preston's got a warm smile for Max as well, "Hey."

She grins a little in return. "That's good to hear."

It's genuine. She'd been worried since Ray had told her of Robbie's disappearance.

Preston motions for Max to sit, "Robert-move over a bit."

Father's mad at his son.

Robbie hangs his head, smiling at Max, "How're you?"

She might take a brief, wary look around before dragging up a chair and taking a seat.

She gives Robbie a faintly sympathetic smile. "I'm all right, thanks."

Robbie nods, "....I'm 'upposed to apologize to you and to all the others."

"Eh?" She blinks once, and glances questioningly towards John.

"Why's that?"

Robbie sighed, "For worrying everybody..."

Preston sighed, "....He should have known better then to wander off like he did."

"I wanted to make sure the guy was okay!"

"All the same." Preston's voice hardened, "-You're not to EVER do that again."

A part of her wants to defend the boy, in no small part because she'd done much worse at his age. But she knows it isn't his place.

And hell, maybe discipline's good for a normal child.

...Relatively speaking.

"...Maybe this is a bad time."

"No-it's okay. "Preston smiles, "....we've spoken. Besides, it's almost time for bed."

He stares Robbie down, his son meeting his father's gaze defiantly before stifling a yawn.

The kid is only nine.

He waves to Max, "g'night."

She hides a grin behind her hand. Kids will be kids.

"G'night, kiddo. Sleep well."
