As narrative convience would have it, Ash comes downstairs just in time to witness the tail end of this performance. He doesn't seem to find it odd though, as the tune he's been humming under his breath turns into a full blown song.
The fact that he couldn't carry a tune if you handed it to him doesn't seem to impede this process at all.

The swell of music building up from nowhere in particular suddenly stops.
Peter blinked at him, and groaned, "Got hit too, huh? Weird shit, and no idea what." He then frowned, peering around, and unclipped the PKE meter from his belt. He flipped it on, and waved it around.
"Hard to tell what I'm getting here. Might be getting inteference." He waved it in front of Ash, and peered down at the meter.

As he looks around, he catches sight of a warning poster pinned to he bulletin board.
"You have got to be kidding me."
