Lilly's been around. She just hasn't been as noticeable as she is tonight after her conversation with Bernard, cheerfully sitting next to a rather large sign with a picture of herself on it, pointing and smirking. The words below the picture read:

Ash hasn't seen Lilly since his well-deserved asskicking. The sign, however, gets a stare and a raised eyebrow.

Ash gets a raised eyebrow right back.

"If you think I'm hiring you, you're insane. How do I know you wouldn't just pull out halfway through and ditch on your client?"

[ash__evildead]

"What makes you think I'd wanna apply? Sheila'd kick my ass worse than you did."

The fact that Sheila's due to give birth any day now doesn't enter into this in the slightest.

Lilly shrugs.

"You do stupid things. So. Given Sheila any reasons to kick your ass lately?"

[ash__evildead]

"Can't argue with that. And no, I haven't."

He hasn't actually been around much lately. Retail hours suck.

[awesome_lilly]

"Hmmm."

Lilly's still eyeing him.

"Well. If you're making Sheila happy, then... I might not have to kick your ass either quite so much anymore. Maybe."

He almost smiles at that. Almost.

"Well, I'm doin' my best."

[awesome_lilly]

"Okay, then."

Lilly smiles suddenly.

"Because if you're not, you now know I can hook Sheila up every night of the week, if she wanted."

[ash__evildead]

And that gets her a look that lookes something like this: O__o Mainly at the thought of Very English and Very Proper Sheila doing something that.

Ah, but get the Very Proper and Very English Sheila Very Drunk around the Very Improper Lilly, and crazier things have happened.

Lilly just smiles.

If they have, Ash really doesn't want to know about them.

"You are somethin' else, you know that?"

It's a compliment. Sort of.

Lilly beams, taking it as a total compliment.

"I know."

Something else does not include modest.

He's quiet for a while, wanting to say something but not knowing how.

"Y'know, I don't think I ever thanked you."

[awesome_lilly]

Lilly blinks, startled.

"Thank me for what?"

[ash__evildead]

"For lookin' after her while I was gone. And for smacking some sense into me when I desperately needed it."

[awesome_lilly]

Lilly tries not to appear mollified. It doesn't quite work.

"Well, you're welcome. And... yeah, you really needed it."
