Things are better.

Jack is in.

Playing toss catch toss with a crystal ball on a couch, a suitable distance away from the fire.

conan edogawa, jack frost, satan, john preston

And there's a John Preston.

He'd never admit to being afraid of going home, but all the same he's there-sitting in a nearby chair.

"Aren't you afraid of breaking that?"

He points to the crystal ball.

"It is charmed so it will not."

He grins over at him, catching it and sliding it back into his pocket.

"A christmas present by one who knows I am not always terribly graceful. Hello!"

Preston's suddenly thining of his own christmas presents, however the man can't help but make him grin.

"Hello. How are you?"

"I am very well."

Bruised, here and there, but well.

"Yourself?"

"Fine." Preston lied.

He's an excellent liar.

"Tonight's the night. Putting things in motion."
He nods to himself, more then to the man he's talking to.

"What?"

He leans forwards, because he is determined and not really as flighty as he comes across, sometimes.

"What is it? Can I help?"

Preston pauses.

Hesitating.

"My friend. Your friend. We're going to go rescue him."

"Jurgen?"

Hope fills his voice.

"How are you going to do it? What will happen? Where is he and can I help at all? I miss him."

Preston is not a man who's used to putting other people in danger.

The fact that so many people are leaping to help defend his cause is somewhat unnerving.

"....Do you want to-help?"

Another plan is slowly taking shape inside his mind.

"Yes!"

It's Jurgen. Somehow, that man seems to inspire loyalty.

"I cannot verily be hurt and I do want him back."
