The lookalike pups gripe at the mun if she does not put them both in regularly enough. Thus, since the other one got an entrance yesterday, Fred has one today

Ben looks kind of happy to see her.

"Fred. Hey."

"Hey Ben!" Fred says, with a warm smile.

"How've you been? I haven't seen you around."

"I'm fine. Been about, sorta." He's been doin' his introvert thing.

"You?" He smiled back.

"Things have been surprisingly good. Which, given this place, is saying a lot." she replies.

"Oh, sorry I was such a mess the last time you saw me." Fred says, wincing slightly at the memory. "There was some magical weirdness going on, we still haven't figured out what yet, but I'm fine. Mostly."

He nodded. "Y'can't be sorry for gettin' hurt." He smiled a little. "'Sides, I don't mind fixin' ya. If y'need it."

"I guess that'll teach me to follow seemingly nice people through portals." Fred says, rolling her eyes. "Why did I ever think that was a good idea?"

She shakes her head, mentally kicking herself over the whole mess.

"But no, I'm honestly fine, physically. Shouldn't even have a scar. I just wish I could remember what happened."

"Don't feel too bad. Happens to me, too." Horribly often.

"I guess I just have to be more careful." Fred says.

"Not that that's exactly easy around here, what with all the things that could probably kill me with a thought if they were so inclined."

[b_hawkins]

"Sometimes careful just ain't gonna help one bit. Somethin' wants ta hurt ya, sometimes bein' careful just don't work."

"I don't make much sense of the Endless, neither." Their nature is an unsolvable anomaly.

Fred's never met an Endless, but she's met an angel. Does that count?

It appears that she takes Endless to mean that entire sort of being, anyway, so she merely nods.

"I just thought I'd narrowed down the list of things that want to hurt me to those from my own world, you know? You don't expect to be singled out by some stranger."

He nodded. "I don't figure why anyone'd wanna hurt ya to begin with." His face was honest.

"Maybe some folks just come here to find other people to hurt." It wasn't a terribly comfortable realisation- for Ben, at least, this bar was supposed to be a safe haven where he could simply put his feet up and relax.

"I'm sure they do, just like anywhere else. There are always predators."

Fred looks ruefully at the place where the door should be, but isn't.

"At least you can come and go, right? I can't say for sure that I'd pick my world over this place, but at least there I expect trouble. Though I'm starting to expect it here, too."

[b_hawkins]

"Go?" He paused, staring at the door with dismay. "The door's there. I figure s'locked from the outside. The door won't take me back, neither."

"Oh. I hadn't realized, I thought you could leave, too. I never heard of anyone being able to see the door but not open it."

She shrugs.

"I can't even see the door, but that's probably for the best, since going back is almost guaranteed to kill me."

He nodded, sadly. "Then I guess we're staying put."

"It could be worse." Fred remarks, idly.

"As far as alternate dimensions go, this place is pretty good, and I speak from an unfortunate amount of experience on the matter."
