"It would appear so," she replies smoothly. "All things are part of the Pattern."
A beat. "It certainly might not have been my preference, but matters occur as they must."
As with so many things the Aes Sedai says, the latter comment might be construed to refer to Nynaeve's own presence at Milliways, if one were suspicious enough.
As if Nynaeve would ever let personal feelings get in the way of Healing.
She'd dance a jig for the Dark One, first.
One hand takes Moiraine's left forearm in a careful grip as Nynaeve draws on saidar, weaving flows of all five Powers together and sending them through the seepings burns on Moiraine's left shoulder.
There is a tingling sensation, but nothing like the wave of chill she was expecting. Her eyes widen slightly in surprise as Nynaeve's weave seems to explode over the burned shoulder in a coruscating rainbow of light, then sinking in and vanishing-- but as the light fades, the smooth and unwounded flesh can be seen once more.
Moiraine flexes her shoulder and then says, very calmly, "My sincerest thanks, Nynaeve."
Both should be familiar, although it has been some time indeed since she will have seen the woman clad in blue... and never quite like this.
Despite the wounded shoulder, Moiraine looks serenely composed, standing beside Rand al'Thor.
"Nynaeve. It has been a while; since Cairhien, as I recall."

Well, rage and the glow of saidar. Her hand yanks so firmly on her braid it seems like she is attempting to pull it out of her head.
She barely notices Rand--not yet.
"Light burn you Moiraine, where have you been? He needed you."
Which 'he' she is referring to seems up for debate. She might mean Rand.
The wound, of course, has not yet registered.

"I have been where it was necessary for me to be."

two at once is two too many to have around
Giggling echoes in his mind. He ignores it.
Reply
"Necessary. Of course it was necessary."
You have your duty, and I have mine.
Many things are necessary. She knows that. It has never meant that she has to like it.
"I suppose getting yourself charred to the bone was necessary, as well?"
Nynaeve sniffs, chin tilting upwards a bit. Composure is still very difficult, but she makes an effort.

He pointedly eyes Moiraine's shoulder.

"I was just about to do that."
She might mutter 'bloody fool man' as she steps forward, hesitating a brief moment.
"You have no objections, I assume?"
Reply
Faint lines of pain are visible around the corners of her mouth, to a careful observer, and dark eyes are darker than normal.
"And I am aware of your skill, of course."
Reply
Nope. Not a tense muscle in his body. Totally casual.

This, this is what she was made for.

"How did you find your way here?"
Reply
"Through a gateway."
There is a moment of quiet, and she swallows.
"Can I expect this to happen often?"
Reply
"It is something that can be learned and directed, although you are not the first to have arrived here unexpectedly."
