Malcolm nods. "Now that I think about it, a lot of the books I had to read in school were probably the same way. Never thought of reading them upside down, though."
"Obviously I should have met you years ago."
She might think he's teasing, but Malcolm is actually thinking of a couple examples...
"Are there still things for you to learn? I guess I assumed your magic--well, that your magic came from inside somehow. That it wasn't something you could get from a book. Not like maybe other magical people could."
Malcolm is absolutely fascinated. To his eyes, the flame is like the one in the fireplace, and yet ... different. Does he see other colors of flame within it? He can't be sure, but he finds himself drawn to it somehow.
His eyes a bit dazzled, he reaches out, almost touching it before he snaps to, his hand stopping a few inches away from it.
He looks up into Morgan's eyes, a little embarrassed by his reaction.

Malcolm's still trying to make out the title of the book. He's just curious that way.
"Practicing your upside-down reading?" he asks with a gently teasing smile.

"So what is that book anyway?"

He reaches out and touches the flame, with no idea of what to expect...
